A hug which cost India Rs 2.86 lakh: Modi should have never visited Nawaz Sharif!

An RTI response has revealed that Pakistan has sent India a fat bill of Rs 2.86 lakh as route navigation charges for Prime Minister Modi's IAF aircraft during his stop over at Lahore while returning back to New Delhi after a visit to Russia, Afghanistan, Iran and Qatar. On December 25, 2015, Prime Minster Narendra Modi had made a quick stopover at Lahore to wish Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif on his birthday and give him a warm hug. A hug which cost India Rs 2.86 lakh. But was it even worth it!

Point is Narendra Modi wanted for good relationship with Pakistan despite all their backstabbing. He knew that his gesture may not be successful. But then that visit ensured that the international community no more blaming India rather holding Pakistan responsible for all such terrible things. The surgical strike also got no opposition by international media. Thus that was part of very careful & well thought out plan to expose & isolate Pakistan internationally.
