Teacher made short academic films can be used for developing analytical thinking through content and process analysis: Study
"Teacher-made short academic films of one-minute not only can make learning of textbook effective and focused but can also build interest of students in the topic to do reference work in the library to go beyond the textbook," said the action researcher whose research abstract has been accepted for an upcoming educational conference in Hyderabad.

The abstract of the paper by Dr Lalit Kishore titled "Exposure of Pupil Teachers of Special Education to Academic Micro-Film to Assess Their Analytical Thinking: A Secondary Analysis of Response Sheet" has been accepted for "International Multidisciplinary Conference on Education for Future: issues and Challenges" to be held at Osmania University, Hyderabad, on July 8-9.

According to the abstract of the research, a pedagogical experiment on transacting a lesson with a micro-leaning based short teacher-made video film was conducted with the pupil teachers of special education (N=30; mean age: 21 years; semi-urban background).

A one-minute film was made with six photographs of hand written material on 'Fundamentals of Computer' using the movie maker software. Using the video-film, a 30-minute interactive session was held followed by a content and process analysis of the session.

Also, participants' reactions to the session were analysed using chi-squared test with one degree of freedom. It was found that the participants reacted significantly positively.

The process analysis led to finalisation of procedure for preparation of micro-learning based production and transaction of teacher-made video film related to the course content to link digital media and classroom instruction.

The keywords of the full length research paper to be developed at Disha, Jaipur, are the analytical thinking, micro learning, mini lesson, pedagogical experiment, short film, special education and teacher education.
