Rs 50 lakh award announced for each Indian woman cricketer: Wonderful decision by the BCCI
Ever since the beginning of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2017 being held in England and Wales, the Indian team led by the vibrant Mithali Raj has displayed its excellent game and has already reached the final which will be played against England at Lord's on Sunday.

Supporters in general and especially the sports writers were pointing out the poor coverage being given to the women cricketers.

However, in perhaps one of the finest decisions, realising the spirit shown by the Indian women cricketers, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of Rs 50 lakh to each player of the team for their performance in the World Cup.

Apart from the cricketers, the support staff will also be rewarded with Rs 25 lakh each. This announcement was made on Saturday after Mithali Raj-led side reached the final of the ongoing World Cup. The Indian women's team will be taking on the hosts England in the final with hopes of lifting their first ever world cup trophy.

It's nice to know that the tickets of the final match which is set to take place on Sunday at Lord's have been sold out. A total of around 27,000 fans are expected to fill the stadium as both the teams belong to cricket-crazy nations.

More than 4,000 fans had gathered at Bristol to see England beat Australia in the group stages whereas the tickets for the India-Pakistan encounter were sold out in Derby the week before.

India will go into the match with a high level of confidence after their win against defending champions Australia on Thursday. Earlier, Team India had sent New Zealand home packing to secure a place in the semi-final.

England will also look to grab the game as they have won all their matches so far but one. However, the last time the two teams met, India defeated England by 34 runs. For India, it's a now or never kind of situation and this move by BCCI of awarding the cricketers will definitely boost their morale. Well done BCCI, well done girls.
