Rich tributes paid to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 62nd Mahaparinirvan Diwas
The 62nd Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr BR Ambedkar was observed across the country on December 6 and rich tributes were paid to him by the leaders and the followers.

President Ram Nath Kovind led the nation in paying homage to Dr Ambedkar by offering floral tributes to Baba Saheb at Sansad Bhavan Lawns in the Parliament House complex this morning. Vice President M Venkiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Speaker of the Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan also offered tributes to the Father of the Indian Constitution.

At the function organised by the Ambedkar Foundation, the other leaders who paid floral homage to Baba Saheb included the Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot, Ministers of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar, Vijay Sampla and Ram Das Athawale in the presence of other dignitaries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his message on the occasion said, "I bow to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas," and added that he had felt extremely blessed when he had prayed at Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai.

On December 7, Prime Minister Modi is going to inaugurate the Dr Ambedkar International Centre at 15 Janpath, Delhi. He will also launch the Dr Ambedkar International Centre for Socio-Economic Transformation (DAICSET).

According to an official release, the Dr Ambedkar International Centre is a fusion of Buddhist and present day architecture which includes seminar as well as conference halls. There are three auditoriums and an extensive library with a rich digital repository.
