Pushkar in Rajasthan hosts five day workshop on remedial education
A five-day workshop on remedial education is being organized by Educate Girls in Pushkar town of Ajmer district of Rajasthan to support the secondary education of out-of-school girls.

The remedial education will address the hard spots learning in mathematics, science and English for grade X.

The workshop is technically supported Jaipur-based CULP-NGO and meant to develop the accelerated revision instructional material and individual guidance in hard spots of learning.

"The workshop is going to be helpful in organizing the remedial instruction in a systematic way to make girls get their difficulties removed in two-hour evening or early morning centers," said Praveen Kumar Sharma, who is working as tutor with Educate Girls organization.

"The workshop is aimed at upgrading the technical competence of tutors and Kishori Coaches to help the girl students who are at risk for not completing their high school education. The training will also build confidence of the tutors and coaches to do their job effectively and in turn benefit the students," said Meera Karki, Consultant with Educate Girls.

Resource person Kripa Shankar said that the training should be based on an instructional model consisting of accelerated revision strategies; individual guidance for hard spots study skill and formative evaluation with corrective feedback.
