Preview of match 22: DD vs KXIP - playing at home Daredevils desperate for a win
In match number 22 of the VIVO IPL 2018 Delhi Daredevils will host the Kings XI Punjab today at the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium in New Delhi.

Both the teams are on different ends of the IPL 2018 points table. While Delhi with just one win is at the bottom of the table, Punjab with four wins from five matches is at the top.

Daredevils playing under their new skipper, Gautam Gambhir were expected to perform better than this. Gambhir who had previously led the Kolkata Knight Riders to victory is struggling to find the perfect balance in the team.

The Daredevils need to plug the holes in their bowling. In five matches so far, they have conceded totals of 167, 153, 194, 200 and 176 with an overall economy rate of 9.40. Mohammed Shami and Chris Morris, who were expected to lead from the front have struggled in season 11 of the Indian Premier League, only picking up 6 wickets between them and giving away runs at the rate of 10.31 per over. Unfortunately DD's batting has been a poor show as well. With nothing else to write home about, Rishabh Pant is the only consistent performer for the team with 223 runs against his name.

For Kings XI Punjab, on the other hand, things look far more promising. Skipper Ravichandran Ashwin looks much more relaxed after the inclusion of Chris Gayle in the playing XI. Gayle with one century and two fifties is currently the most dangerous batsman. However, their bowlers need to be more consistent. Except for Andrew Tye who has 7 wickets, no other bowler has performed as per expectations.

Gautam Gambhir's side will play its first home match and try and use the home conditions that can help them move further up the points table.
