Mohan Bhagwat's most political Dussehra speech: Sangh's worry over downing graph of BJP is obvious!
The recent statement of Rashtirya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) supremo Mohan Bhagwat on the Narendera Modi government which is making all-out efforts for the of growth of the economy is a new sign of worry.

According to Bhagwat, there is a need to make new policies by the advisors of Niti Ayog by coming out from their outdated and old "economic isms", to strengthen the economy of the country. Bhagwat stressed upon the need to improve the working conditions of the farmers, lower middle class, traders and SMEs. After the implementation of demonetisation followed by the introduction of the Good and Services Tax (GST), the country's economic graph has come down. The opposition is raising its fingers on the government; and whispers within the BJP have also started.

Demonetisation drive affected a number of businessmen. Farmers' problems have increased and the most affected is the labour class and small businessmen. Later on, the introduction of GST too added to the sufferings of people, especially the trader community. There is resentment over weak economic policies of the Central government. Since the business class is considered as the core vote bank of the BJP, Sangh's worries are very much obvious.

In the meanwhile, the BJP is busy making a strategy for the next general elections due in 2019 to en-cash it at the appropriate time. Modi took over the reins of the country with the slogan of development, but unfortunately, neither could he bring improvement in foreign investments nor could he create employment opportunities for the youth. Important policies like farmers' insurance look to be a mere farce. In such circumstances, the BJP is expected to face a number of questions before the approaching Lok Sabha elections. Since the BJP is the political wing of the RSS, the worries of the Sangh Parivar are increasing especially with regards to the problems of farmers in view of weak economic conditions.

With still one and a half years left for the next general elections, a few good efforts and timely decisions can provide respite to the government. But for this, some sort of strategy is required, which for now, looks nowhere in sight.

Frankly speaking, Bhagwat has compelled the Niti Ayog and policy makers to think from differently. The dream behind changing the Planning Commission to Niti Ayog for speeding up the developmental pace, is still unfulfilled. Apart from farmers' issues there are a number of problems which the government is confronted with. The soft corner of the Central government towards the big corporate houses and high inflation, to name a few.
