Meet the hero of Kamala Mills fire tragedy who climbed seven floors three times for rescuing 3 survivors
The fire that broke out at the Kamala Mills compound in Mumbai last week on Thursday, claimed 14 lives.

However, many more lives would have been lost, had it not been for bravehearts like Sudershan Shinde who are always ready to sacrifice their own life in the line of duty.

Constable Shinde was one of the first persons to reach the spot along with his colleagues after the fire broke out at the roof-top restaurant named '1 Above' which eventually engulfed the entire building located in Mumbai's Lower Parel area.

The fire also left 16 others injured, out of whom eight were admitted to KEM Hospital for treatment while others were shifted to private hospitals.

The brave Constable Sudershan Shinde rescued three survivors, each time climbing seven floors of the blazing building.

Shinde was quoted by DNA as saying, "When I reached upstairs, everything was burned and charred. When I reached down, I could hear exploding sounds. Which I feel were of alcohol bottles and gas cylinders. There were several hookahs that added to the intensity of flames. I could see only one woman coughing. The rest, I believe, may have died of suffocation."

Not only Shinde, but the guards of Times Now, who were on duty at the time the tragedy struck, were also instrumental in helping the victims escape from the inferno. But for these people, the casualties in the incident could have been way more.
