Lucknow to host national conference on 'Society and Well Being'
Lucknow is going to host the 5th National Conference on "Society and Well Being" on 4th April at Amity University campus in the city, inform the organisers and the faculty of Amity Institute of Behavioural And Allied Sciences.

The conference will be marked by paper presentations, poster displays, invited talks, discussions on various sub-themes such as Community Engagement In Well-Being; Violence and Social Injustice; Digitalization and Society, Gender Issues and Challenges; Media and Social Development; Health (Spiritual, Emotional, Physical) and Well-Being, Social Collectivism and Health; Well-Being in Organizations; and Education for Well-Being.

In psychological sciences, well-being is part of positive psychology with interconnected dimensions of physical, mental, social, spiritual dimensions of an individual's health resulting into deep sense of personal satisfaction and accomplishment in living life.

According to Carol Ryff's multidimensional model of psychological well-being, there are six key factors comprising of self-acceptance; personal growth; purpose in life; environmental mastery; autonomy; and positive relations with others.

Of late, various disciplines have shown interest in the area of well being and various models of well being have been developed. However, the practical application of these models has not been tried out in a big way. This is because of the reason that among various professions the idea of putting theories into action does not exist.
