L-G cancels DSSSB PRT exam-2017 for appointment of primary teachers for MCD schools
The Lt. Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal today cancelled the DSSSB examination-2017 for appointment of primary teachers in MCD schools on the basis of a Delhi Police report.

The examination had been conducted on October 29, 2017 and an FIR had been registered on the same day by the Delhi Police. The matter was later handed over to the Crime Branch for swift action.

The Hon'ble Lt. Governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal had directed the Commissioner of Police, Delhi to investigate the matter from all angles in a time bound manner.

According to the Delhi Police, a large number of suspects and beneficiaries had allegedly been involved in widespread cheating during the examination. The Chairperson, DSSSB has been issued directions by the Hon'ble L-G to conduct the examination again so that the vacancies of teachers are fulfilled as soon as possible.

The L-G has also stressed upon the need to plug the loopholes in the system. Baijal has ordered the Secretary (Education) to take strict disciplinary action against staff members who had been identified for aiding cheating/copying during the examination and submit a report within 10 days.

In the latest report submitted by the Delhi Police, it has come to light that a number of suspects are possibly involved. The police has already arrested 20 accused in the alleged cheating racket. According to Delhi Police, social media and technology had been used extensively for harbouring cheating during the exam.

DSSSB is also expected to review its system and methods of conducting the examination thoroughly keeping in mind the modus operandi adopted by the perpetrators.
