International Gita Mahotsava at Kurukshetra reaches its peak
Inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind, the week-long International Gita Mahotsava-2017 which began on November 25 in Kurukshetra town of Haryana, has peaked and will conclude on November 30 with a performance by actress and MP Hema Malini and grand Bhajan Sandhya.

In his inaugural message, President Kovind said that the Bhagavada Gita's teachings were timeless and helpful in resolving the dilemmas and struggles between right and wrong that exist within every human being.

The event this year, is being co-partnered by Mauritius, which has a sizable number of Hindus and many devotees of that country are visiting the events at Kurukshetra.

On the sidelines of the event a craft and art fair is being held with book exhibition along with eating joints from the neighbouring states, However, Rajasthani food of 'Daal, Bati aur Churma' is hit in the fair.

The festival is being marked by devotional singing, quiz competitions, shloka recital, dance-drama performances, Bhagwad Katha readings, processions, exhibitions, discourses, processions, etc.

In Hayana, Kurukshetra town and a nearby spot called Jyotisar are known as sacred places where celestial song 'Bhagwad Gita' is believed to have been delivered by Lord Krishna to perplexed and confused Arjuna. The scripture is considered to be the philosophical guide and spiritual beacon for the Hindus that provide solution for existential issues of life.
