Advent as part of Christmas season is for spiritual and joyous preparation for arrival of Jesus
Christians across the world are preparing for Christmas celebrations on December 25 both through externalities of decorations and inner purification through spirituality in the form of three-week Advent Season.

Advent and Christmas Season, that spans four Sundays during December started on December 3 this year, is intended to be a season of preparation for the arrival of Jesus.

Along with being a joyous season, it is the period of preparation of penance and fasting for the faithful. In other words, Advent is the liturgical season marks the time of spiritual preparation before Christmas to mark the birth of Jesus.

Thus, the Advent Season in Christianity, the season of preparation for the coming of Jesus on Christmas Day, is viewed as the time for the followers to come together in prayer and devotion for redemption and deliverance. But, in the modern world dominated by media and market, however, it is easy to get distracted from the real purpose of the celebration through over-indulgence in festivities and merry-making.

Advent is also called "Little Lent" to be treated as a time to review life through repentance, forgiveness and renewal. During the season, reading of the Scripture is often related to Lord's coming, the judgment and the hope of eternal life.

Here are my six-word Advent Season verses.

Celebrate / Lord's coming / for our deliverance.

Pray / to hear / the voice eternal.

Pray / to receive / grace of God

Feel / God's eternity / and endless mercy.

Invoke / Hope of / deliverance and renewal.

Strive / for wisdom / to see possibilities.

Silence / mortal body, / feel the eternity

Realise / the one / who is timeless.
